The images shown here are just a few of those that the artist has made about oak trees. She enjoys drawing particular specimens which have interesting shapes or characters, from venerable ancient trees to young saplings.

The  importance of oak trees in the English countryside as a strong structural element is obvious to anyone who looks at the landscape but perhaps less well known is this species' capacity to live in close association with an impressive number of other organisms. This includes hundreds of fungi, lichens, birds and mammals as well as plants and insects. In short, it offers a fine example of how to co-exist with the other lives around us....
