This is a long thin print of a very old oak tree which grows beside the River Dart in Devon. Although the canopy of this tree is considerably reduced and ivy scrambles up its trunk, such a tree provides a habitat for an enormous number of species, such as wood-boring insects, birds, fungi, small mammals, moths, and many kinds of beetle and other insects. It was drawn on the spot in her canoe by the artist and printed nearby in her studio.
